ABOUT THE BOARD

The Osteopaths Registration Board is the independent statutory body created by the Osteopaths Act 2001 (Act No. 16 of 2001) to maintain the Register of osteopaths of New South Wales and administer the Act generally.

Pursuant to section 86 of the Act the functions of the Board are as follows:-

(a) such functions as are conferred or imposed on the Board by or under the Osteopaths Act 2001 or any other Act;

(b) to promote and maintain standards of osteopathy practice in New South Wales;

(c) to advise the Minister for Health on matters relating to the registration of osteopaths, standards of osteopathy practice and any other matter arising under or related to the Osteopaths Act 2001 or the Osteopaths Regulation 2002;

(d) to publish and distribute information concerning the Osteopaths Act 2001 and the Osteopaths Regulation 2002 to osteopaths, consumers and other interested persons.
