ADMINISTRATION

The Health Administration Corporation, the corporate arm of the NSW Health Department, is responsible for the provision of administrative support to the Board, including managing and paying accounts and employing staff.
The Board is self funding and costs associated with its administration are met from fees received.  Funds received by the Board are transmitted to the Corporation in accordance with section 125 of the  Osteopaths Act.
The Corporation also provides administrative support to the health professionals registration boards established by the following Acts.
  • Chiropractors Act 2001
  • Dental Technicians Registration Act 1975
  • Nurses Act 1991
  • Optical Dispensers Licensing Act 1963
  • Optometrists Act 2002
  • Physiotherapists Registration Act 2001
  • Podiatrists Act 2003
  • Psychologists Act 2001
The staff establishment of the Health Professionals Registration Boards is the equivalent of 49 full time positions.   Staff, as employees of the Corporation, derive the benefits of the personnel policies of the Health Department including training and equal employment opportunity practices, and are subject to the Department’s Code of Conduct. The HPRB is managed by Mr J. Tzannes (Director) and Mr R. Dwyer (Deputy Director) for the Corporation.
