CODE OF PROFESSIONAL
CONDUCT
The Minister for Health, the Hon. Mr Morris Iemma MP approved the Code of Professional Conduct on 7 October 2004 ("the Code") in accordance with section 19, Osteopaths Act 2001.
The Code which commenced on the 7 October 2004 replaced the draft Code, carried forward by the Board from the pre-existing professional code approved by the joint Chiropractors & Osteoapths Registration Board.
The Code provides guiding principles, and minimum standards that should be observed by registered osteopaths in their professional practice and guides the interpretations to Part 4 of the Osteopaths Act 2001 (Complaints and Disciplinary Proceedings.)
The objective of the Code, moreover, aims to provide prinicples and guidelines which should be observed by registered osteopaths in their professional practice and to which osteopaths must adhere so as to ensure that neither intentional nor unintentional harm to clients result from osteopathic practice.
