HOW TO APPLY FOR REGISTRATION

Applicants may apply for registration under the Osteopaths Act 2001 or the Mutual Recognition Act (NSW) 1992.

Applicants who are new graduates with recognised qualifications and applicants who are not registered in another State or Territory of Australia or New Zealand should apply under the Osteopaths Act.

Applicants who are registered in another State or Territory of Australia should apply under mutual recognition.

Applicants who are not normally resident in New South Wales, and who seek registration for the purpose of carrying out educational or research activities, or such other activities as the Board may consider to be in the public interest, should apply for temporary registration.

There are two categories for Temporary Registration, as follows:

  • Temporary Registration for a Period of Less Than 3 Months
  • Temporary Registration for Special Circumstances

Applicants who do not have qualifications recognised by the Board, but who meet certain criteria, may apply for registration after successfully completing the approved examination.  Please contact the Board for information regarding the examination.
